best wishes for a wonderful, happy wedding!

this post reminded me of a cake my mom used to make - lemonade cake. once the base was cooked, she'd poke holes all up in it and then dump a defrosted can of minute maid frozen lemonade concentrate all over it. dang, it was good.

i never liked grocery store cake frosting - at least around here in MA/RI you could still feel the grains of sugar in it. (not that it ever stopped me from having a piece and any & every kid birthday party.) but somehow hearing it called "grease frosting" makes me like it a bit more, and gives those good nostalgia vibes. now carvel frosting...whatever is in that stuff...that's where it's at for me.

and citric acid? never cooked with it (yet!) but as a fan of all things sour, i love the stuff. someone introduced me to limon7 last year - it's salt, citric acid, sugar, and dehydrated lemon juice - i use it like fundip for lollipops!

OMG "grease icing" perfectly describes it. I tend to avoid it like the plague but I'll try your version and see. Thanks always, for these delicious posts. I'm a new fan!

How much sugar for the icing? I’m no chef and my first guess was garbage.
